Shepperton - finally!
Well just a couple of days after submitting my last post I received a text message which included the magic words: "Shep's running, it's starting to bowl". It did also include something about needing lots of energy but I decided to ignore that bit.
Hooray!

The level it was at formed a super fast wave, which provided crazy aerial front-surfs and uncontrollable everything - much fun! However, after 8 attempts and only 2 surfs I started to get a little tired - perhaps I clearly understood the rest of the text message! I did eventually get the hang of it, but was totally exhausted.

My pumped arms were almost rested by the next day (Friday) when I went back for more, this time thankfully it was easier to get on, but still super-fast.
Unfortunately the following day was a Saturday, and also GB team training, so I had to share the eddy with 20 or so people. Not ideal, but the wave had steepened a little and it had slowed down enough to get slightly more controlled manoeuveres.
Very good.
Obviously by Sunday it was too high again. Short but sweet. Looking forward to next time.
Thanks to Els for the pictures.
