European Champs - day 3 (quarters & semis)
The quarters (men K1 only) and semis (ladies, Junior men, men) were today, unfortunately we lost a few more Brits out of the competition. However, well done to those who made it through: 2 junior men (Tom Turner - with some big air loops and Joe Bradley with really consistently big blunts and back blunts) and 2 ladies (myself and Lowri - both with fairly similar rides and an identical score!). Jenny didn´t get the cartwheels she landed in the last round and unfortunately dropped from 1st place and didn´t get enough points to make the final.
Nina Haslova is the current no.1 lady to beat and is sticking loops consistently.
Well done to Alan Ward for making the K1 mens semis, the competition was tough and the moves needed to be big but were very hard to complete due to the flushy nature of the wave (as Pringle found out in the quarter finals). Matthieu from France is looking strong and has been taking the lead in every round so far with a huge variety of moves.
The biggest move of the competition so far was from one of the junior Frenchies who pulled off a massive air loop in his Gui Gui prods (most of the big moves are being done in these boats)
The King of the Wave contest was on this afternoon - we may have reports from that tomorrow.
All finals (knock-outs) are tomorrow.
Flea.
